HydroTec® is the first truly complete eco-friendly paintball. The outer shell is constructed from corn-based materials and the fill is 90-98% water. Pigments used for color are eco “neutral” and have no adverse impact on the environment. Since it is constructed from these kind of renewable raw materials, HydroTec® is also more cost effective and efficient.

 

 

 

HT Bio Shell

The outer shell of HydroTec® is immune to the effects of moisture. This means that it does not swell in humid environments or when in direct contact with water. The shell is plant derived and begins to break down once exposed to active bacteria in soil, which consumes the shell. HydroTec® will also not hydrate, and dehydrate again, creating a layer of “glue” on field structures over time. Better still, is that unlike gelatin, there is absolutely no odor from the degradation of HydroTec’s shell.

 

 

 

H2O Fill

HydroTec® fill is *98% water and is colored with pigments that are environmentally neutral, meaning they have no positive or negative impact on an eco system. The fact that HydroTec® is primarily water and does not use oil in it’s fill also means that there is no risk with regard to the environmental impact. HydroTec® will not contaminate the water table or inhibit plant growth where there is heavy use, such as paintball parks.

 

 

 

Evaporative Fill

Since the fill is *98% water, most of the fill evaporates after use. Of course the rate of evaporation depends highly on the location and playing conditions. However, the benefit is that field structures and equipment will no longer be covered in oil. Multi-leveled structures, bridges, fortifications, etc will be less likely to have slick surfaces, helping to reduce the risk associated with playing paintball. This provides a product much more amenable to the indoor playing arena, and helps to preserve playing structures for field owners. Players will no longer have to deal with the “greasy” feeling associated with a long day of play. For field owners with rental fleets that are costly to clean, HydroTec® will ease the long hours of removing oil from equipment and in some cases may only require a quick wipe down.
